Privacy at Cire
English Street Ventures Pty Ltd, trading as Cire, runs this marketing site, the invitation sites couples send their guests, the organiser portal and the vendor portal. What we do with personal information is set out in three notices, one for each kind of person who uses Cire:
- Hosts — couples, co-hosts and organisers.
- Guests — invited households and the people they bring.
- Vendors — wedding suppliers.
What the notices say, in short
Each of these is said in full in the notices; where a notice says more, the notice applies.
- Guests don’t create accounts. An invitation asks only for the small amount of information hosts need to plan the day and cater for their guests.
- Dietary and access details are optional, and kept only with explicit consent, which can be withdrawn at any time.
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
- We run no third-party analytics or advertising trackers, and use only the cookies the service needs to work.
- The two parts of an invitation served by other companies — the venue map and the moodboard — each stay off until the guest allows them.
- Guest information is deleted one year after the wedding’s final event, now and then up to 30 days later. That window is set by us and applies to every wedding — an organiser cannot extend it.
- We never see card details: purchases go through our merchant of record, and money gifts through Stripe on the couple’s own account.
- Our primary region is Oceania: Cloudflare hosts our databases there and keeps read-only copies of them in other regions of its network, which it chooses and can change. Files organisers upload are stored by Cloudflare in Eastern North America, and copies of images are cached where they are viewed, for up to a year.
Your rights, and who to contact
You may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your information, and to object to certain uses — under the Australian Privacy Act, and for people in the EEA or UK, the GDPR and UK GDPR. To exercise them, contact us at aniket@englishstventures.com. Guests can also ask their hosts, who can act on most of it immediately. You can also complain to a regulator — in Australia, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), or your local data protection authority.
